Sareena is at the forefront of her firm’s scalability efforts. In working with newer, younger, and seasoned industry professionals alike, across various departments, she has become the company’s resident expert on departmental and multigenerational struggles and opportunities both industry-wide and internally. Sareena brings a uniquely unconventional perspective and technical and analytical knowledge which leads to innovative and competitive solutions.

Sareena’s vision for the future of women in our industry is to be able to have it ALL. The goal is not to achieve a work-life balance but rather work-life integration through building scalable systems, diversity of thought, and a healthy ability to adapt and pivot the game plan as needed. Sareena believes great entrepreneurs rise out of adversity and reminds ladies to be confident, be resilient, be the best version of themself and dare to have it ALL.

Rana is the executive director of NEXA Mortgage, a company she has had the pleasure and privilege of being a part of from its inception. She has been an integral part of the company’s growth from a few officers and her to over 2,000 loan officers and several hundred support staff. Within NEXA, she started a Women of NEXA (WON) program to provide additional love and support to the women within the industry. Rana says, “Our motto for Women of NEXA is Stepping Forward Together as WON and our ladies have done just that. They come together to lift, support, and listen to each other.”

Rana Mortensen believes the women within the mortgage Industry are finding their voices, and they are using them. Her vision is for women to continue rising to the top. Despite the cyclical lull the industry finds itself in, this is momentary in the larger scheme of doing business and helping homeowners. The mortgage industry will rebound soon enough and there will be more women at the top. We are and will continue to be resilient.

Kim leads with an amazing heart and by example. Those in her path consider themselves lucky to spend time with her. She gives unconditionally and generously, both with her time and resources.

Kim works with newer real estate agents and loan officers helping them grow their businesses without asking for anything in return. She also builds women up in the community organizations she volunteers for, as well as in the mortgage world.

Kim has been in the industry for 20-plus years. She has several awards for production, leadership, and change; however, her proudest is when she was named one of Boulder County’s most influential businesspeople.

Melissa’s vision is to prove to the world success doesn't have to ﬁt into a mold. Vision defines success and each vision is unique.

A mortgage broker since 2004, Melissa has always been an outside-the-box thinker. She is extremely tenacious, often reciting the famous movie quote, "Goonies Never Say Die," when she encounters a roadblock or unique situation in her industry.

Melissa's greatest gift is the ability to connect and ﬁnd commonality with everyone she meets. It doesn't matter if they are a multi-million-dollar CEO or a ﬁrst-time homebuyer, to Melissa, they are equally important. She ﬁrmly stands by her motto, Authenticity Wins. Every Time.

When Melissa made a conscious change in her mindset, she was able to double her business and give herself a raise to six ﬁgures in one year. A notable public speaker, she can inspire, energize, and encourage others to discover and use their inner strengths to propel their lives and careers to greater heights.

Even before leaving the healthcare field to build a career in mortgage, Katie Sweeney was no stranger to leadership and managing complex teams. Since entering the mortgage industry, Katie has successfully brought to market an innovative, all-in-one platform and custom lender portal for the wholesale mortgage channel. Today, as the Associated Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) CEO, Katie oversees the day-to-day operations of the AIME team by spearheading partnership development, membership growth initiatives, and business analytics. Under her leadership, AIME has seen stronger capabilities develop among AIME’s broker network to deliver top-tier products and services for the benefit of the wholesale community and a cadre of vetted sponsors. She has also overseen the development of a best-in-class member portal, launched mentorship and job placement services, and ushered in a renewed focus on diversity initiatives through AIME’s Spark and Ignite Programs.

Katie’s contributions to the growth and success of the wholesale channel have been noted by HousingWire who presented Katie as one of 2020, 2021, and 2022s Women of Influence within the mortgage industry.

Carolina’s vision for the women in the industry is to feel equal, heard, and accepted. She would like to create an environment where women can grow and be the best they can be, not only in sales but in operation positions. Carolina would like the industry to be a place where people support each other and become a team.

Carolina Vergara is responsible for building First Option Mortgage’s (FOM) largest branch and the first woman-owned branch within the FOM network. Currently, she has a staff of 12 people in her branch which is dominantly female.

Carolina has been named a top 250 winner for The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) year after year. She has also been awarded the Circle of Excellence Presidents Club Award, which celebrates ideas, innovation, and strategic thinking in the business world. Carolina is regularly involved in several different networks, such as NAHREP and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Katie is the definition of a woman with vision. She joined this industry four years ago on a team where she had to push herself and her knowledge to grow quickly. She dug her heels in despite the learning curve and has developed into an amazing friend, colleague, and woman. Katie has added and impacted several women's lives this year by looking at them as people and seeing the potential they bring to the plate. She sees more in people than they see in themselves.

Katie's vision is to bring people from all walks of life into this industry and show them how they, too, can be successful. She wants to lead women no matter where they are in their life or where they are located. She wants women to know they can be successful, and someone will support them, train them, and be there for them as they grow in their own careers. She looks to grow the business throughout the state of Texas and looks for potential in those she comes to and add them to her tribe.
